
Ohio's electric cooperatives are committed to the growth and development of their youngest members, and carry out that commitment through several scholarship programs offered to their members' children and legal wards, as well as their interns and children of their employees and trustees.

Children of Members Scholarship
Up to one scholarship finalist from each of Ohio's 24 electric cooperatives can compete in the statewide Children of Members Scholarship contest, which will award a total of $56,100 among all winners. This scholarship is available only to children and legal wards of permanent residential members of Ohio's Electric Cooperatives.

Trade School Scholarship
Up to $4,000 in scholarships will be awarded through the Trade School Scholarship to students pursuing further education at a technical or trade school. Applicants must be a permanent residential member of an Ohio electric cooperative, or child of a permanent residential member.

Next Generation Cooperative Intern Scholarship
This scholarship is offered exclusively to students who have completed or are currently completing an internship related to their field of study at one of Ohio's electric cooperatives or an OEC facility (statewide office, Cardinal Plant, Mone, Greenville). Students may win up to $1,000 through this scholarship.

Children of Employees and Trustees Scholarship
Up to $47,500 in scholarship funds will be awarded among all winners of the Children of Employees and Trustees Scholarship. This scholarship is available only to children and legal wards of an Ohio electric cooperative employee or trustee, or a child of an employee of Buckeye Power, Inc., Ohio’s Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc. or the Cardinal Power Plant.
