Meet the OEC Leadership Team

President & CEO

Grooms assumed the position of president and CEO in January 2025, but has been with Buckeye Power, Inc., since 2004. He has served the organization in multiple roles prior to his role as CEO, including as chief operating officer and vice president of engineering and operations. Prior to joining Buckeye Power, Craig worked for NRG Energy and Dayton Power & Light in a variety of positions.

Vice President, Finance/CFO

Since 2009, Roberts has worked as the vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Buckeye Power, Inc., and OEC. Prior to joining the OEC team, Bill was employed for more than 17 years in various financial positions at a publicly held company.

Vice President, Statewide Services

Miller has been part of the utility industry for 30 years. On behalf of Ohio’s electric cooperatives, Doug oversees safety training and loss prevention, lineman development training, legislative and government affairs, marketing, economic development, communications, and director and employee training.

Vice President, Power Generation

Alban has served Buckeye Power since 2004 by managing the operations and assets of its power generation resources as well as its generation reliability environmental compliance. Before joining Buckeye Power, Alban worked for AEP for 17 years in various fossil generation roles.

Assistant Vice President, Operations

Zemanek joined OEC in 2004 and oversees market operations, risk management, field engineering, and facilities management. Zevin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering Technology and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, each from the University of Dayton.

General Counsel

Helfrich has served as the general counsel of Buckeye Power, Inc. and OEC since 2018. Kurt served as a partner and associate at Thompson Hine, LLP, for 20 years, acting as outside general counsel for both Buckeye and OEC.
