Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives’ members were awarded $6,000 in Electric Cooperatives Technical/Trade School Scholarships on May 26, 2023. Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives established this scholarship to create awareness of electric cooperatives and to help cooperative members, and/or dependents of cooperative members, pursue Technical / Trade School certificates.
Since starting this scholarship in 2017, Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives has awarded $34,000 in Trade School/Technical Scholarships to help cooperative members or their children pursue technical training. This opportunity is advertised annually in Ohio Cooperative Living’s March and April issues.
Tanner Adkins, Noah Hildebrand, Joseph Pozda, Heidi Miller, and Bryson Tillman were awarded $1,200 trade school scholarships each.
- Adkins, an Adams Rural Electric Cooperative member is a 2023 graduate of West Union High School. He plans to pursue a career in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts.
- Hildebrand, a Consolidated Cooperative member, is a 2023 graduate of Delaware Area Career Center/Home School. He plans to pursue a career in Welding.
- Pozda, a Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative member, is a 2023 graduate of Midview High School. He plans to pursue a career in Electric Vehicle Technology & High-Performance Technology.
- Miller, a North Western Electric Cooperative member, is a 2023 graduate of Fairview (Central Local School District) High School. She plans to pursue a career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Tillman, a URE member, is a 2023 graduate of Fairbanks High School. He plans to pursue a career in Natural Resource Law Enforcement.
