Butler Rural Electric Cooperative’s Board of Trustees attended NRECA and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives’ annual meeting in Nashville in March.
Touchstone Energy held its 14th Annual Community Service Project in conjunction with the annual meeting. More than 100 electric cooperative volunteers from 25 states joined together to demonstrate their shared commitment to community.
Projects included cleaning the playground at a daycare facility and updating the teacher's lounge and installing energy-efficient LED lighting at local high schools. Volunteers also held a drive-through food pantry that served more than 300 families, provided hygiene kits to the local community, and packaged 16,000 meals for families in need.
Board members David Evans, Jim Meador, Tom McQuiston, Butch Foster, Bob Spaeth, and Mike Tilton also attended the event along with Butler Rural Electric Cooperative’s General Manager Tom Wolfenbarger, Director of Administration Julie Abbott, and Director of Operations Mike Murray. Board members Bob Hoelle, Jay Hasbrook, and Ron Kolb attended the meeting’s general sessions virtually.
