After a tumultuous opening day of the legislature in the House and two years of a brutal power struggle, former Senate president Matt Huffman (R-Lima), who was term limited out of the Ohio Senate, was elected Ohio House Speaker for the 136th General Assembly. As anticipated, Sen. Rob McColley (R-Napoleon), serving his second term in the Senate, was elected Senate President by his caucus.
Ohio House Republican Leadership
Speaker Huffman’s leadership team is rounded out by Rep. Gayle Manning (R-N. Ridgeville) as speaker pro tempore, Rep. Phil Plummer as assistant speaker pro tempore, Rep. Marilyn John (R-Shelby) as majority floor leader, Rep. Adam Bird (R-Cincinnati) as assistant majority floor leader and four whips: Rep. Riordan McClain (R-Upper Sandusky), Rep. Steve Demetriou (R-Bainbridge Twp.), Rep. Nick Santucci (R-Howland Twp.) and Rep. Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Twp.).
Of the leadership team, the following members have co-op service territory in their districts:

Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) was again elected to lead her caucus. Her leadership team includes Rep. Dontavius Jarrells (D-Columbus) as assistant minority leader, Rep. Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) as minority whip and Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) as assistant minority whip.
Ohio Senate Republican Leadership
President McColley's leadership team includes President Pro Tem Sen. Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin), Majority Floor Leader Sen. Theresa Gavarone (R-Bowling Green) and Majority Whip Sen. George Lang (West Chester).
