In 2021, Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives joined together to help each other improve their cybersecurity programs. Under the name RECAP, a Team of IT professionals conducts an independent assessment of a cooperative’s cybersecurity program using the RC3/Axio360 software. The results are cross-referenced to the Center for Internet Security (CIS) controls (v8), to generate a “Top 10” list of priorities. The Team has identified several “high priority” vulnerabilities identical to those that resulted in serious cybersecurity breaches at cooperatives around the country.
