OEC offered an energy advisor training, titled "Reducing Water and Moisture Problems", at its statewide office on March 10. There were six cooperative staff from six different cooperatives in attendance. Two cooperatives invited an additional 13 guests from local HVAC, inspection, construction, and contracting companies. OEC extended the invitation to energy advisors in IN and KY, with one KY co-op staff member attending.
This one-day day workshop provided detailed information on how to avoid water intrusion and moisture problems created in homes due to incorrect or poorly installed building components. Attendees learned the fundamentals of building science and the relationship between insulation, air tightening, and moisture failures, along with best practice examples.
