Over the years, Ohio’s electric cooperatives have faced challenges in Columbus and in Washington, D.C. Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives’ government affairs team has built strong relationships with regulators and elected officials in order to ensure the continued reliability and affordability of electric service to Ohio cooperative members.
Members of Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives can show their support for cooperative interests by participating in Co-op Owners for Political Action (Co-op Owners) — a political action committee that supports state and federal officeholders and candidates who support co-ops.
Co-op Owners members are also members of a national political action committee – the Action Committee for Rural Electrification (ACRE). More than 29,000 electric cooperative members across the country support ACRE – including 6,900 from Ohio.
If you’re an Ohio cooperative member and are interested in learning more about Co-op Owners and ACRE, please contact your local cooperative.
