Dwight Miller, director of safety and loss control for Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, talked about the impact of copper theft on cooperatives in a recent article in RE Magazine.

“Copper is a vital part of the distribution power system, and one wrong cut can cause a grounded component to become energized at thousands of volts, leading to severe injury and damage to expensive equipment that the member ultimately pays for,” said Miller in the article.
