Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives’ Magen Howard has been elected to the board of directors for NRECA’s Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC) program.
Howard, who is manager of communications and member services, will serve a two-year term beginning in May. The 14-member CCC board is responsible for the program’s overall policies and direction, as well as for standards and requirements to become certified and maintain certification.
She has served in communications roles at all levels of the electric cooperative industry, starting at Blue Grass Energy, a distribution cooperative in Nicholasville, Kentucky, in 2007 and moving to NRECA in Arlington, Virginia, in 2010. She returned to her native Ohio in 2013 to join the staff of Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives as associate editor of Country Living (now Ohio Cooperative Living) and transitioned to her manager role in 2016.
Howard has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University and a master’s degree in public relations from Kent State University.
