Jade Sturgeon, communications representative at Butler Rural Electric Cooperative, and Mindy Hardy, communications specialist at South Central Power, recently earned their Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC) designations.
Sturgeon and Hardy were among 14 communicators from cooperatives nationwide to pass the extensive four-hour CCC test in May at the CONNECT Conference.
Candidates must have at least three years of experience in communications or have earned a bachelor’s degree and have at least one year’s worth of experience in the communications field. Candidates must first submit a portfolio of their work before qualifying to take the test.
The CCC program was instituted in 1985. More than 200 communicators across the nation currently hold the CCC designation.
