Bob and Midge Custer, members of Pioneer Electric Cooperative, were named grand-prize winners of the 2018 #WhoPowersYou competition.
Additionally, Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative member Ronnie Kahle, Sr., won third place.
The Custers operate Downsize Farm, a Medicaid-certified agency that offers skill building and job training services to individuals with disabilities. They seek to enrich the lives of their participants through personalized, structured activities in a positive setting.
For 10 years, Kahle has been instrumental in the development of Four Seasons Park and the Plum Creek Nature Area in the village of Kalida. Kahle has been involved in every aspect of the project, from installing underground utilities to overseeing construction of buildings.
The Custers and Kahle received $5,000 and $1,500 prizes, respectively, from Touchstone Energy in the competition.
The #WhoPowersYou contest recognizes electric distribution cooperative members who have made a positive impact in their communities.
