OEC, South Central, Butler earn Service Excellence Four-Star status

Last month, Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, South Central Power Company, and Butler Rural Electric Cooperative received national recognition from Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives for earning Service Excellence Four-Star Cooperative status.

These cooperatives make up four of the 17 electric co-ops across the nation that have earned this prestigious Four-Star Cooperative recognition by completing four employee engagement courses in the Touchstone Energy Service Excellence Program.

“Along with our partners at South Central Power and Butler Rural Electric Cooperative, we are pleased to have achieved this high honor from Touchstone Energy,” said Janet Rehberg, director of marketing at Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives. “This accomplishment demonstrates a commitment to service and ongoing employee education, and member-owners will reap the rewards of this effort.”

The Touchstone Energy Service Excellence Program is an on-site workshop series that empowers employees to become ambassadors of their cooperative and electric cooperatives in general. During these workshops, co-op employees master advanced communication skills, adopt a “can-do” attitude, and learn how to better assist members by proactively anticipating their needs.
