Ingredients
  • 3 pounds hamburger
  • 1 green bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 1 medium onion (finely diced)
  • 1 1.25-ounce packets hot chili seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 30.5-ounce can Brooks Chili Hot Beans (red beans in chili sauce)

Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, cook hamburger until browned, approximately 10 minutes, breaking it into small pieces.
  2. Spoon a little grease into a large stockpot. Add green pepper and onion and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes over medium heat. Drain grease from hamburger.
  3. In stockpot, combine hamburger with green pepper, onion, chili seasoning mix, chili powder, salt, tomato paste, and water. Stir well.  
  4. Rinse each can with a little bit of water and add water to pot. Add beans and tomatoes with juices. Simmer on medium-low heat for 1 hour.
  5. Store in refrigerator for up to a week or store in small, freezer-safe containers for future meals.
