Moody’s affirms strong credit ratings for Buckeye Power

Moody’s Investors Service recently issued its annual credit opinions on both Buckeye Power, Inc., and Buckeye Power Generating, LLC, reaffirming their strong ratings of A3 and Baa1, respectively.

Moody’s also maintained both entities’ long-term outlook as stable.

“Buckeye’s credit profile reflects the cooperative’s strong financial metrics on average in recent periods, as well as its self-regulated rate-setting business model, the long-term wholesale power contracts in place with its members, its competitive wholesale electric rate, and the self-reliance upon its owned electric-generation assets to meet its members’ energy needs,” noted Moody in its opinion of Buckeye Power Generating.

Standard & Poor’s and Fitch are expected to issue their annual credit ratings for Buckeye Power in early 2018.
