Buckeye Power announced Friday that it has received approval from the Rural Utilities Service and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to assume operational control of Cardinal Generating Station, Mone Station, and Greenville Station from American Electric Power.
Buckeye Power will assume control of the facilities on March 1, 2018.
“This has been a long road to get to this point,” said Pat O’Loughlin, president and CEO. “I’m very proud of the tremendous job all involved have done preparing for these new responsibilities.
“Now the next phase begins, as we activate the plans and systems that have been put in place over the past several months. I hope you are all looking forward to the exciting future ahead of us as much as I am.”
